CPWC/VDWC Qualifying Round Complete: Eligible Teams Decided!

After the Qualification round on July 7th the CPWC judges have decided that all 28 teams have passed. The next steps require each team to focus on and improve their projects so that they may submit for the final screening and award ceremony in November.

Now, FORUM8 will continue to hold the final screening, results presentation, and award ceremony in Tokyo in November. If travel is difficult due to restrictions on travel, all teams will be allowed to present online for the final screening. Every year we provide the travel expenses to Japan for 2 team members (Flights, Hotels, etc.) of the qualified teams. In the unlikely event that the event is held online, FORUM8 is planning to arrange a 100,000 JPY package to nominees. We appreciate your participation and look forward to your project submissions.

 ■ Judges Comment

This year’s competition is heating up and we are glad to announce that every team has passed the first selection process. While there were many different states of project applications ranging from well-designed thought out projects to some general ideas. We believe that every project holds a clear goal and can be transformed into a well-made project. There are a few teams that are missing some information, or have not fully committed to a final idea, so we want to give each team individual feedback reports. We are glad that teams are focusing on autonomous driving using UC-win/Road, and we hope to see these projects improve for the purpose of research and experimentation within UC-win/Road.
