Title : DrEyeVer: Detecting Objects on Driver’s Focus of
        Attention for Intelligent Vehicle
Team Name : KaAI Kookmin University (Korea)

Overview

This project combines information about the driver's eyegeases obtained from wearable eye tracker on a driving simulator equipped with UC-win/Road. A system is developed to warn the driver of unrecognised vehicles in the surrounding vehicles.

Title : TRAFFIC SIGNS AWARENESS ASSISTANT FOR DRIVER
Team Name : Kompas Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Vietnam)

Overview

On highways or routes, especially when drivers are driving in bad weather condition, they sometimes cannot see the traffic signs, which is very dangerous! Therefore, we could make a mobile application, to inform the driver whenever there is a dangerous traffic sign ahead! Beside, we store road signs database on cloud as a service. That means we can share, modify data easily, real-time to the community.

Title : Creation of Hilly and Mountainous Road Simulator
        Model Using a Card System
Team Name : A.S.Y. Suwa University of Science (Japan)

Overview

In a hilly and mountainous area like Nagano prefecture, there are many fatal accidents involving type of vehicle alone or vehicle to vehicle, so accident cause factor analysis using a driving simulator is essential. Therefore, road model templates for hilly and mountainous road are devised in advance like a card game in order to create a high quality and efficient road model of UC-win/Road. We will construct an epoch-making method to create hilly and mountainous road simulator model.

Title : Feedback Report Generator for Drivers using Biological Sensors
Team Name : AM Girls Sugiyama Gakuen University (Japan)

Overview

Traffic accidents by aged drivers (more than 65 years old) are increased according to the report of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The main cause of the accidents by aged drivers is a lack of self-awarenessabout their physical inabilities. Therefore, we developed a generator of feedback reports to awaken their actual driving abilities. Our generator considers driver's driving logs: eye-moving and speed, and generates a feedback report as an HTML file. The drivers can check their scores to drive safety (e.g., they looked at both sides at intersection or not) by themselves from the feedback report.

Title : Influence of rainfall and waterlogging on drivers' behavior
        – a driving simulator study

Team Name : SMTH Tsinghua University (China)

Overview

A driving simulator study is conducted to investigate the influence of rainfall and waterlogging on drivers’ behavior where 30 groups of scenarios with different rainfall intensity and the depth of water are included. Two-way Analysis of Variance (Two-way ANOVA) is used to analyze the characteristics of the driving parameters in different scenarios of rainfall and waterlogging. The results show that rainfall, waterlogging, and their interaction effect significantly influence drivers’ acceleration/deceleration behavior in free acceleration period and forced deceleration period. Rainfall and waterlogging also significantly influence the headway distance when drivers are in the car following period.

Title : Smart parking solutions for CBD-- central business district
Team Name : SCI-team Shanghai University (China)

Overview

In order to break the information asymmetry between the driver and the parking lots, improve the utilization rate of parking lots, reduce the cost of manual management, and ease traffic congestion, this solution monitors the parking lots in the parking lots near the CDB in real time, analyzes and judges in time .The number of vacant parking lots provides information on parking lots proactively, which reduces traffic congestion caused by car owners looking for parking lots. When parking lots are tight or not, the car can be quickly led to other parking lots or nearby parking lots.

Title : Speed up of Elevated access
Team Name : Spring Shanghai University (China)

Overview

In order to solve the problem of serious congestion in certain sections or periods of time in some areas, a scheme combining UC-win/road software and related technologies of vehicle flow detection is proposed to simulate the real situation of congestion in the viaduct entrance and exit. When the traffic flow is suddenly increased or blocked, the traffic flow at the entrance of the viaduct can be accelerated by adjusting the control time of the signal light near the entrance or selectively closing the exit.
